Music Anyone?
Hey everybody, as you probably already know, we're starting to get into paintball videos. Our biggest problem, however, is we don't have any awesome music to use yet. And, paintball montage videos start to get pretty boring without any music. So, we were wondering if any of you are in bands or know bands that have original songs that we'd be allowed to use as background music for our videos. We'd definitely add you to our credit list and provide links to your website. Just think, this could be your big chance to have hundreds of people hear your music. If you're interested, you can email John Link or Noah Paris at: johnlink@triggerwalkers.com or noahparis@triggerwalkers.com.
If you've got any other ideas feel free to shoot us an email too or you could just post a comment on this post.
Does it have to be orignal
Does it have to be orignal music? Only reaosn i ask is there is a lot of good music out there and that would be somewhat limiting.
hmm...let me explain
By "Original" I guess I mean "written by the band." I'd like to use the music in our paintball videos, some of which we'll sell and some that will simply be posted on the web (ie YouTube). Even though it seems like everyone else is taking whatever paintball clips they want and whatever music they want and slapping them together for some cool montage videos, I'd like ours to be as legal as possible. Therefore, I'd like to use our footage with music that we have "rights"/"permission" to use. I thought I'd ask the paintball community first to see if anyone would like to get the word out on their garage band or something. If I can't find anything there I'll branch out to the local bands and see what I can find around Grand Rapids. I'm not necessarily looking for songs written about paintball, nor for people to write new music just for our use. If some of you have recorded something in the past and wouldn't mind us using it for our videos that's really what I'm looking for.
Thanks for the question.

i've always liked how a nice
i've always liked how a nice steady hip-hop beat flowed with some footage. i know there are hundereds upon hundreds of beats on limewire and such that noone really owns rights to, not to mention they put them out there for people to freestyle on, and to use for songs and such.
im pretty sure as long as you credit the artist on the ones not for sale, its perfectly legal to use pretty much any music you want.
the ones that are for sale, however, im sure if you just emailed, myspace messaged, or even called the band or the bands manager im sure they would have no problem with allowing you to use their work.
Good ideas
I'll have to check out limewire or something like that. I did a quick search for "creative commons" music and found a couple sites that have hundreds/thousands of songs that are free for people to use. The biggest issue with those sites is that a lot of the music is in different languages...lol...would you guys enjoy being in a paintball montage video with Swedish music playing in the background...haha :)
I've found some good songs on http://www.jamendo.com/en/ that I think I'll use. Thanks for all your emails and comments, I think I've got a good direction to head now. But, any more comments or emails are still welcome.
